But— this style has been around since the 1880s. It’s called Rubens.
You might have seen it in use by Motley Crue or Tolkien.

Shortly after, a bolder variation on the style emerged.
Taco Bell used it for their menu in the early 1970s.

Despite the popularity of these styles,
And despite the similarities between them,
A modern version that bridged the gap never existed.

So here’s something new:

Now here’s a Rubens that leans into its verticality.
That inverts its contrast and extends its swashes.
A modern play on an all-time historical favorite.
