The Star Wars logo only has 5 letters: A, R, S, T, and W. When The Empire Strikes Back was released in ’81, some additional letters needed to be created to match the style of the original logo: B, C, E, H, I, K, M, and P.

While some of these letters further define the base style, the full-width crossbar E and squarer S became emblematic of this specific era.

Womprat contains alternate characters for E, F, G, J, S, and an ampersand that fit this denser style, which are all enabled automatically when selecting this OpenType feature.
